FROM AN IDEA TO GOLFTECH ACADEMY
GolfTech Academy was born from a vision to make modern golf technology, training and equipment expertise more accessible to golfers in Kenya.
Our founder, Winnie Wangari Ngethe, first encountered high-tech indoor golf simulators while living in the United States. Experiencing how these systems could provide detailed swing analysis, simulate golf courses and create opportunities for practice regardless of weather sparked an idea: why not bring this technology home?
With the support of her family, Winnie turned that idea into reality.
THE BEGINNING
In 2019, under Global Wellness & Lifestyle Ltd, the facility opened at Rosslyn Riviera Mall as The Nairobi Golf Simulator.
The facility introduced Kenyan golfers to indoor golf technology and created an environment where players could practice, analyze their swings and experience golf in a different way.
The business also developed its focus around golf equipment, custom club fitting and player development.
GROWING THE VISION
As the business evolved, its services expanded beyond indoor golf.
GolfTech Academy developed a stronger focus on golf equipment and the relationship between a golfer and their clubs, including custom club fitting, club building and golf club repair.
The business also established its fitting relationship with PING and Diamond Wishon Golf UK.
Today, GolfTech Academy is a PING and Diamond Wishon Golf UK Authorized Fitter, providing specialist fitting services alongside its club workshop and custom club-building capabilities.
A NEW HOME
After a period of closure, the facility was rebranded as GolfTech Academy and reopened at its current location:
GolfTech Academy, Unit 14, Northern Bypass, next to Isuzu TMD, Nairobi, Kenya.
The new facility brings together golf technology and specialist club services, including equipment fitting, golf club repair, modification and custom club building.
WHERE WE ARE TODAY
Today, GolfTech Academy combines:
- Custom club fitting
- Golf club repair and workshop services
- Custom club building
